Since 1988, Dr. Rodrigue, a specialist in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics, has been helping patients improve their appearance. With honesty and integrity, he will advise you on the best treatments for your oral health and aesthetic, discreet, and effective solutions.

Dr. Charles Rodrigue obtained his doctorate in dental medicine from the Université de Laval in 1985. He then completed a specialty in orthodontics at the Université de Montréal in 1988. Back in Quebec City, he chose to set up his practice there because of the quality of life.
As a professional, Dr. Rodrigue is a member of the Canadian and Quebec Associations of Orthodontists and is registered with the Ordre des Dentistes du Québec. Concerned about well-being and balance, Dr. Rodrigue is particularly interested in proven treatment methods that improve patient comfort and reduce treatment times.
Dr. Geneviève Gadbois graduated from the Université de Montréal in 2020, where she was honored with the Orthodontics Award from the American Association of Orthodontists. Her academic performance earned her a scholarship to complete a residency at the Montreal Children's Hospital, during which time she developed a passion for treating and interacting with children.
Eager to further specialize, she continued her studies at the Université de Montréal, obtaining her specialty in orthodontics. Her master's thesis, which explored the aesthetic gain of mandibular advancement surgeries, earned her an invitation to present her research results at the Journées de l'Orthodontie in Paris in 2023. In addition, Dr. Gadbois completed a fellowship in orthodontics from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, consolidating her expertise in the field. Dr. Gadbois officially graduated in orthodontics in 2024.

A clinic specializing in orthodontic care in Sainte-Foy
The team at the QuébecOrtho clinic has over 30 years of expertise in the field of orthodontics in Sainte-Foy. During your treatment, everything is done to provide you with the greatest comfort.
While for most patients, the main benefit of orthodontic treatments is regaining a beautiful smile, straight and functional teeth also offer many benefits in terms of oral health.
Depending on the growth of the patient's facial complex and the severity of the case, orthodontic treatment lasts on average from one to three years. The patient's cooperation in monitoring and following instructions is also an important factor in obtaining the best results within the desired time frame.

Children and Adolescents
It is ideal to see an orthodontist before the age of seven to determine if treatment is or will be required and to assess the best time to begin treatment. By this age, the first adult molars have usually erupted. Therefore, the situation can be assessed and treatment can be started early to have a better chance of success.
When treatment is started early, we can guide the patient’s growth and direct the emergence of adult teeth into a better position. Early treatment can also correct an imbalance between the width of the upper and lower jaw bones, reclaim space for future adult teeth, reduce the need for permanent tooth extractions, reduce the likelihood of impacted adult teeth, and help correct poor oral habits such as thumb sucking and atypical swallowing. In summary, early orthodontic treatment can simplify future treatment.

Adults
Orthodontic treatment can be successfully performed at any age. Adults can also enjoy the benefits of a beautiful smile and functional dental occlusion. Gone are the days when orthodontics was reserved for children only. In fact, more than 25% of patients treated in orthodontics are over the age of twenty-one.
The health of the teeth, gums and supporting bone of the teeth determines the possibilities for corrections and improvements. Orthognathic jaw surgery may be required in adults since their growth is complete, but it is also possible to proceed with treatment without a surgical approach being mandatory. We will be able to adapt our approach to your expectations. Whether you are young or old, we will be able to give you back your smile.

Orthodontic appliances
Clarity Advanced™ – Aesthetic Attachments
Aesthetic, comfortable and effective, Clarity Advanced™ porcelain brackets will allow you to smile during your orthodontic treatment. These brackets now replace metal brackets when there is no danger of wear on opposing teeth.
Invisalign® – Get a beautiful smile without conventional orthodontic braces!
A consultation with our orthodontist can determine if this type of treatment is right for you, as Dr. Rodrigue is a certified Invisalign® practitioner. This treatment is performed with a series of virtually invisible, removable, and comfortable shells.
This way, no one will know that you are wearing orthodontic appliances. Invisalign® shells are made using a three-dimensional computerized technology that has proven itself for many types of treatments.

Since the aligners are removable, you can eat and drink whatever you want during your orthodontic treatment. In addition, brushing and flossing will not be a problem for you. The aligners are very comfortable and do not cause irritation like conventional braces. Invisalign® will also allow you to see the final results of your treatment at the beginning of it, so you will have something to dream about while waiting for the end of treatment.
You wear each set of aligners for a period of two weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush and floss your teeth. As you progress from one set of aligners to the next, your teeth will gradually move, week by week, until they have reached the final position determined by the orthodontist. Check-ups will be every six to eight weeks so that we can ensure that the treatment is progressing as planned. The total duration of an Invisalign treatment is ten to eighteen months and an average of twenty to thirty-six sets of shells may be required. Of course, the duration of treatment and the number of shells vary from one case to another.
Dentofacial orthopedics

Dr. Rodrigue is a specialist in “orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics”.
All orthodontists first completed university training to become dentists. Once this training is completed, some adopt a general practice while others continue their university training towards a specialty that will require three additional years of training. There are ten dental specialties recognized by the Ordre des Dentistes du Québec.
One of them is “orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics”. While orthodontics mainly deals with tooth movements, dentofacial orthopedics involves guiding growth and development that occur mainly during childhood and adolescence. In both cases, intraoral appliances are frequently used. Sometimes dentofacial orthopedics will precede orthodontic treatment, but in the majority of cases, the two techniques are used simultaneously.
Dr. Rodrigue is a specialist in both fields. He has the expertise to diagnose both dental and orofacial complex problems. He will be able to suggest the best treatment that will include orthodontic and dentofacial orthopedic corrections. Do not hesitate to contact our team for any questions or to make an appointment.
Orthognathic surgery
In the same way that orthodontics allows teeth to be repositioned, orthognathic surgery allows skeletal anomalies (jaw bones) to be corrected, improving the general function of the orofacial complex as well as the patient's appearance. Generally, treatment with orthognathic surgery must be combined with concomitant orthodontic treatment.
Your orthodontist may consider this combined approach for patients whose growth is complete and who complain of inadequate facial aesthetics. Generally, jaw growth is completed around the age of 16 for girls and 18 for boys.
During the first phase of your orthodontic treatment, which lasts on average 12 to 18 months, you will need to consult your orthodontist as you would for regular treatment. Once the orthodontic preparation is complete, you can proceed with surgery.

This will be done in a hospital setting with a maxillofacial surgeon. Such surgery can take several hours depending on the severity and complexity of the case. The exact nature, the need to intervene on one or both jaws and the range of surgical movements will be determined jointly between you, your orthodontist and your maxillofacial surgeon to achieve the functional and aesthetic results you want.
After surgery, you will be able to return to your activities after a two-week convalescence. However, healing will require up to eight weeks. Subsequently, your orthodontist will make the final adjustments to the occlusion over a period of 6 to 12 months. Once the appliances are removed, you will proceed to the retention phase to stabilize your new smile.
